The Leadership Principles

There are four main principles that I subscribe to when it comes to leadership and I wonder if you are utilizing them all as you lead yourself and your organization. I first learned of these principles from a mentor of mine, Pam Boney.  She created the Tilt 360 Leadership Predictor because of the opportunities in coaching leadership to anyone that has the competencies, intelligence and drive to be a leader. I believe, in fact know, that leadership can be learned because it is based on character traits (chosen personas) not personality traits (innate).

The first principle is Balanced. We need to be balanced leaders.  We need to use all four meta-factors of leadership somewhat proportionately.  They are Wisdom (Head), Humanity (Heart), Resilience (Spirit), and Courage (Gut or Body) to reveal ourself as a whole person leader.

The second principle is Conscious. We want to increase our awareness of who we are and how we are received by others. We need to show up with others in a way that we connect on all the different levels that are possible. This awareness needs to be about all the meta-factors of leadership.

The third principle is Creative. We need to bring our ingenuity and ideas utilizing our unique combination of strengths to our leadership. We all have strengths in our unique leadership and through our development of those strengths we also have to be conscious of over-using those strengths so that we do not derail our progress.

The fourth principle is Inspired.  We need to bring our own unique attributes and proclivities to how we lead ourself and others. This will happen if we are consciously employing the other principles and increase our understanding of ourself.

I want us all to become the leaders we intend. These principles can help you to grow yourself and your loved ones into your grandest imagined world.

With the warmest regards,
Marty
